Locks of Love

I have had a desire to donate my hair to Locks of Love for a very long time and I always just give in as it gets past my shoulders. The last time I chopped it, was 7 weeks before Caleb was born, in the heat of an Arizona summer. So here we are 2 years 9 months later and I have successfully donated 13 inches of my hair. The plan was to have a hair chopping party, but since all the people who were planning on donating their hair with me, are now over 1,000 miles away, I figure I am on my own time now. I was getting tired of finding long hairs everywhere, getting headaches from pulling it back all the time and waking up at night in pain, because my hair was being pulled by me moving around in my sleep. So it has been chopped for about 10 hours...I wish it was a little longer, but I really wanted to give as much length as I could to the little girl/young lady/young man who gets it!!! Hubby is in mourning and thinks we need to have a funeral for my hair. When we were first dating, he said he liked short hair over long hair. But he definitely is a changed man and would much rather see me with long hair. The fact that my hubby likes me better with long hair made me hesitate to chop it, but I had a goal and know that it is worth it. So here is to another 2 years and 9 months of growing my hair. I bet it will actually grow a lot faster here in paradise. They say hair grows faster in warmer climates. Sorry Hubby, but it is for a good cause:)

  2. Good Job! I'm thinking about doing it again, it's been about 1 1/2 years since I donated, and my hair is getting out of hand again. Not sure if I have the guts to do it again though...

  3. Karly, I have had short hair so often, that it almost feels normal already. I do have to get used to using about 1/8 the amount of shampoo though:)
Have I ever seen you with short hair Shannon, I seem to only remember you with your long beautiful locks!!!

  5. I did it when we came to Delaware. My hair was still medium length afterward though, I waited until it was really long.
