February Family Update Part One

Hello all, I have decided with all the changes in our life, that I am going to use this blog as a way to communicate what is going on in our household. I intend to continue documenting all the things I am learning on my life journey also. Please bare with me, as I am not the best writer. I will mostly just get to the point with very few eloquent words. So...... Around Christmas time, Joshua was putting in as many applications for a new job as he could. He got a call from a gentleman, who basically interviewed him over the phone and said Joshua should be getting his new hire papers very soon. The new job would be based out of Kona, Hawaii. We were excited, but had little hope. A week went by and we lost all hope. Then one night at about 2am (after Joshua got off of work), I heard Joshua say "Are you awake??? You have to read something." It was the new hire packet....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Let me just say, I didn't get the best sleep that night:) We still had lots of questions, like what were they going to pay Joshua, how much was the health insurance, what was the cost of living.... We came up with a number, that the salary must exceed for us to be able to even scrape by. After a couple of days of Joshua trying to get a hold of someone and doing some budget estimates...we found out that the salary was more than we had expected. We would still be scraping by, but our savings should help us out as needed???? So a trip to New Mexico, to get all our belongings out of storage and a few quick goodbyes and Joshua was on plane near the end of January to Kailua Kona, Hawaii. We actually didn't even have a hotel or car reserved until the last minute because of how things were so rushed. Our plan at that time, was we are not making any real plans yet. We don't know what the company is really like and we don't want to make such a HUGE move without knowing that this job is going to last a while for us. So Joshua for the first week talked to as many people as he could to get an idea of where the company was going and how it treated its employees. Everything he heard was good, so we decided it is a go. ....to be continued:)
